Learn more about our upcoming luncheon hosted by Women United.
This Wednesday, May 22, United Way of East Central Iowa’s Women United (WU) will host their annual Women United Luncheon. The sold-out event is an opportunity for members of our community to learn more about the leadership society’s mission, to celebrate the successes of last year, and to hear from the three nonprofits they partner with:
- Eastern Iowa Health Center (EIHC)
- Community Health Free Clinic (CHFC)
- Area Substance Abuse Council (ASAC)
Each organization will have a representative participate in a Q&A session and share the impact WU’s support has had on its clients.
Additionally, there will be a client from ASAC’s Heart of Iowa program who will share her story with all in attendance.
Last year, Jennifer Dvorak—a former client of Heart of Iowa—was able to attend the event and share her story and the impact WU had on her life. Because of the effort, time, and support of the members of WU, individuals like Jennifer are able to receive services they need to get back on track, and in her case, reunite with her children.
