Welcome to United Way, Melinda! Melinda Karminski recently joined our operations staff as Bookkeeper for our finance department. Get to know her by reading her responses below.

Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you do for fun? I grew up in Mt. Vernon, IA and I have recently moved back to Mt. Vernon.  I enjoy spending time with family, especially in the great outdoors.  I also like to travel, read and to get my whole family involved in DIY projects.

What’s something unique about you? I have an identical twin sister.

What do you love most about working at United Way? Knowing that my hard work here can impact the community in such a positive way.

Outside of United Way, how are you involved in the community? Helping out at my daughter’s school.

What is some of the best advice you have received? To find the positive in every situation.
