Staff Spotlight: Janelle White

Welcome to United Way of East Central Iowa, Janelle!

Janelle White recently joined United Way's operations team as our new Bookkeeper and Administrative Support Specialist. Get to know a little about Janelle by reading her responses below.

Tell us about where you’re from, where you grew up, etc.

I was born and raised in the Cedar Rapids area.

What are your hobbies, what do you do for fun?

I enjoy hanging with family and friends, a good game night, shopping, cooking, and reading.

Why did you want to work for United Way?

To get involved in the community more and help the community grow and change for the better.

What’s your secret talent that no one knows about?

I am a licensed Cosmetologist.

 Who inspires you and why?

People who go out of their way to help others inspire me.  I think when people see this kindness, it inspires them to also go out of their way to help others.
