Welcome to United Way, Brenda!

Brenda Erger joined United Way of East Central Iowa last month as our new Project Assistant for the Resource Development team. Brenda's role includes supporting other Resource Development staff and helping coordinate leadership societies and annual campaign. Get to know a little bit about her by reading her responses below.

Tell us about where you’re from, where you grew up, etc.
I grew up in Center Point, Iowa.

What are your hobbies, what do you do for fun?
I enjoy biking, walking, and other activities outdoors. I also love watching the Iowa Hawkeyes!

Why did you want to work for United Way?
Giving to others who need it always makes a person feel good. United Way does that for people in our community.

What’s your favorite way to give back to your community?
I give back by helping others any way I can. I am involved with volunteering and fundraising for Relay for Life, Especially for You Breast Cancer Run, March of Dimes, and the Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival.

If you were a crayon, what color would you be?
I would be the purple crayon since it's my favorite color.

Who inspires you and why?
My parents are my biggest inspirations. They are such good role models and caring, giving, and loving people with big hearts. They make me proud to be their daughter.
